File types blocked by Outlook
There are two levels of attachment security. Access to level 1 files is blocked and can't be changed. When you receive an attachment with a level 2 file type, you will be prompted to save the file to your hard disk. If you use Microsoft Exchange Server, your administrator can add and remove file types for both levels of e-mail security. If a file type is added to both levels, it will be treated as a level 1 file type.

Steps to follow when a virus attacks your system
If you receive an email with an attachment from an unknown person or from someone you know - but don't expect, do not open the email. The best thing to do is remove the email immediately, then contact the Computer Department at 724-489-9100- EXT 4443. Follow the steps below prior to calling the Computer Department:
1.) Do not open the email or the "attachment". Do not try to drag-and-drop the virus into your Deleted Items folder either. Norton Anti-virus will trigger at this point and send messages to your screen.
2.) Delete the virus from your Inbox by highlighting the infected email and pressing the Delete key (on your keyboard). You can also right-click on the email, then left-click Delete.
3.) Remove the virus from your Deleted Items folder (click on Deleted Items folder). Hi-lite the infected email and press the Delete key (on your keyboard). You can also right-click on the email and left-click Delete.
4.) Contact the Computer Department at 724-489-9100-Ext 4443.
